Moose

This weekend’s undoubted natural highlight was when I chanced upon a herd (?) of 9 moose (elg) in Maridalen early this evening. I don’t know where they came from but it looked like they had been spooked by something. They went out onto the frozen Maridalsvannet but a fair amount of human activity on the lake (skiing and kiting) made them wary so they were just stood on the ice when I left looking unsure of their next move. This is by far the most individuals I have seen together but there was still not an antlered male amongst them (I have yet to see one in Maridalen).
